About Us

Kitchener ICG Chapter has been created to help local athletes attend the Games annually as members of the City of Kitchener delegation. Athletes and coaches must be members of Minor Sport Clubs affiliated with the City of Kitchener.

The committee accepts applications from athletes interested in participating in the Children's Games. A selection committee of volunteer sport enthusiasts reviews the applications, interviews the athletes, and selects the delegates.

The number of delegation members varies each year based on the size of the delegation invited by the host community. The delegation includes the athletes, a coach for each sport, a Head of Delegation, a City Representative (optional), and a female chaperone (if necessary).

The Chapter volunteers work with City of Kitchener Athletics staff and the delegates to raise funds to support the cost for the athletes and coaches. The total cost of participating in the Games is related to the cost of travel, supporting the coaches, delegation uniform, and other expenses for the delegation.
